Brett Hunter Staples was born on May 20, 2004. His life was full of light and happiness, enriching the souls around him with warmth.
Brett loved to gaze at the birds soaring through the Texas sky. He loved to nap within the soft embrace of a fleece blanket. And he loved to smile, always contagious to those around him.
Unexpectedly, at just three months old, Brett passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The first holiday season after the loss of Brett, his family wanted to remember his life positively, channeling their love to an endeavor that would help others. Thus, the first gathering of Brett’s Blankets began with a close group of friends and family coming together to make dozens of fleece blankets for those who needed them most.
Brett’s life has had an everlasting effect on those who knew him and those who have been comforted by his blankets. To this day, his warmth continues to alleviate pain and loneliness for souls around the world.
